Will | In David MOORE's will dated 15 February 1831 in Pittsylvania, Virginia, Percilla NORCUTT was named as an heir; WILL OF DAVID MOORE: I David Moore of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit 1st That all my Just debts he paid. 2nd That immediately after my death that all my perishable property be sold on a credit of twelve Months with the exception of one cow calf for the use and benefit of Sally Norcutt. One other in the same way for Willian D. H. Norcutt and one other for Precilla Norcutt subject to the control of my executor. 3rd I will that my land be inherited by William D. H. Norcutt and Precilla Norcutt to be divided by a line beginning at northeast corner then a straight line to Barker's corner then his line to the head of a Hollow near my _____ crossing and old field to a bending white Oak on Debs line thus divided _________ the Lynchburg Road to be William D. H. Norcutt the balance including my Manor is hereby willed to Precilla Norcutt. 4th I give my executor the remaining part of estate that is to say the whole except the land entrust _______ for the benefit of the said William D. H. Norcutt and Precilla Norcutt in my in the way hereafter named. Two thirds to the said William when he arrives at the age of Twenty three years and the other third to Precilla ___ to wit Mary, Nelson and Stephen to be hired out until the said William D.H. Norcutt is entitled to receive his part of my estate above mentioned and the said there slaves with their hire and increase if any to be also inherited by him the said William and the other two slaves Booker and Marthy to be hired out the same time and the same period then together with hire and increase if any to be inherited by the said Precilla Norcutt. It is a part of my will that if either of the above legatees should sell any part of their interest in and to my estate before the time which they are to receive it then and in the case they forfeit the same and it is my will that my nearest relations the Moore family inherit it - a small parcel of land in Amhurst County three miles or thereabouts from Lynchburg fifteen acres I wish to be sold by my executor at such time and in such way as he thinks proper and the proceeds to constitute an item of my estate. Lastly, I appoint James Adams, my executor, to do and see this my last will hereby revoking every other heretofore by me made be punctually executed.
