He was the son of George David SHANNON and Jane MILLIGAN. 
Marriage*James SHANNON married Susanna Hart SHELBY, daughter of Gov. Isaac SHELBY and Suzannah HART, on 20 May 1824 in Lincoln, Kentucky.1 
Death*James SHANNON died in 1832. 
Anecdote*He was also minister to Mexico and authorized to negotiate a treaty with Central America in 1832. He died of yellow fever while there. Susan Hart Shelby, his wife's niece, also died of yellow fever while there.
