He was the son of Evan SHELBY Jr. and Letitia COX.1,2,3 
Military*Served as a Lieutenant in Christian's Campaign in 1776 and a Major at Musgrove's Mill and at King's Mountain. Was also at Augusta and the South Carolina campaign.3 
Marriage*Evan SHELBY III married Catherine SHELBY in 1778 in Maryland.1,3 
WillEvan SHELBY III was mentioned in the will of Evan SHELBY Jr. on 21 February 1778; His will, dated 1778, lists children John, Isaac, James, Evan, Moses and Catherine.

Death*Evan SHELBY III died on 18 January 1793 in Trigg, Kentucky, at age 38, killed by Indians.1,3
