Death Mother*Sis Nannie and Sis Nettie's mother, Virginia Antoinette Ervin Hairston, died on 4 August 1890 when the twin girls were almost 2 years old. They went to live with their mother's sister Aunt Emmie, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Hallie Ervin. Sis Nannie was crippled, but was a very remarkable person. She took care of her Uncle Charlie and Aunt Hallie until they passed away.
